The smarter you get, the more you realize how much better it is to be smart.

      • Moreover on the logic thing, assuming you're doing the kind of Modal Logic I have experience in then you'll eventually get to things that aren't exactly common sense that you can get at first glance, for example: Prove that P → (Q → R) therefore (P → Q) → (P → R)

        • If you have to ask why, then they aren't doing a very good job of teaching it to you. By the way, High School isn't supposed to prepare you for the work force anymore. Its to prepare you for college. Back in the day high school was supposed to prepare you for being a responsible adult, capable of holding down most jobs. That, sadly, is not the case anymore. A Bachelors is the new diploma, and the point of High School is to get you to a university that can get you that diploma.

          • Why do you need to learn this? Why wouldn't you want to learn something new?

          • It's applied thinking. Your brain is like any other muscle, if you use it frequently and push it hard, it'll get better. Geometric proofs require you to think logically, and the more you do it, the better you'll get.
Why do i need to learn this? WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO TEACH 10th GRADERS COMMON SENSE?!?!
A lot of basic logic seems like common sense but when you get to proper complex stuff the entry level stuff that you go over at early stages is a good grounding. • Proofing a triangle and knowing common sense have a lot to do with women, specifically there is no point in trying to understand, and that it will help to get the poon.

              • The primary purpose of public education is (or at least should be) to teach students how to think. We mix that in with science, math, etc to fulfill a secondary purpose, which is to equip students with the knowledge needed to do jobs.
