My brother has let me borrow his HD collection. I was disappointed by Silent Hill 2.
I always regarded it as a standard of the series, yet I've came to the conclusion that the easy and passable combat in it, is nothing in comparison to Silent Hill: Homecoming. I hate the fact that I'm able to just run past most of the enemies.
It seemed a lot harder back in my early teens. What's your opinion about Silent Hill 2, from today's perspective?
Here are some glitches that I've encountered:
- Random cracking sound while saving;
- Badly synced sound in some areas;
- Unnaturally dark areas ( Apartments );
- Missing segments ( Apartments );
- Can't pick up the handgun ( Apartments ).

Cool.

Wait.
borrowed me
Come on, man.

I played through the first half of it with my girlfriend a few months ago. I enjoyed it but certainly didn't think it was scary or difficult.

Best game in the series. In fact, one of the best games I've played. Amazing story, atmosphere and soundtrack. Combat and gameplay have never been the appeal of the series, at least not to me.

In most Silent Hill games you're better off avoiding combat than actually fighting. There's almost never a point to killing things. Still, despite that game's relative ease, I still think it's fun. I played it a couple years ago and still loved it. The story is great and it rewards exploration with tons of supplies. By today's standards, it's not that scary (especially with games like Amnesia or FEAR 2), but I still like it for the atmosphere and the nostalgia.
