In a post on the website of libertarian activist Lew Rockwell, Mr. Paul said Monday that the governmental reaction to the tragic explosions was worse than the attack itself. The forced lockdown of much of the Boston area, police riding armored vehicles through the streets, and door-to-door searches without warrants were all reminiscent of a military coup or martial law, Paul added.
“The Boston bombing provided the opportunity for the government to turn what should have been a police investigation into a military-style occupation of an American city,” according to Paul.
Agree or disagree? Do you think going door to door forced armed searches are cool with you? Or a violation of Fourth Amendment? I know Bungie is full of Constitutional lawyers. Do you feel comfortable with the government exercising such military-esque occupation?
I agree and disagree
while i do agree that military-style occupation wanst needed (Humvee's, machine guns, etc), i disagree that they were just doing their job. the police didnt know where he was. I think they just needed swat and police to shutdown the town and search houses, anything beyond that wasnt needed.
But Ron Paul does speak a semi truth, even though i wasnt in boston, the vids on the news looked like a military occupation.
