It would be nice to see how many likes a post has and who liked it. When I get a notification that someone has liked a post of mine, I can't see who it is. Right now likes honestly seem kind of pointless.
What do you guys think?

I hate always siding with Recon, but I think he's right on this one, again. I would hate to see likes have any real impact on the overall experience. Look at Reddit. If we kept track of likes it could turn into a ridiculous mess of re-posts and dumb threads for one picture.

Edited by ChorrizoTapatio: 5/11/2013 5:20:41 PMI think the like feature isn't really a personal "trophy" system of sorts, but rather a way to archive threads and/or comments you liked. You're able to "save" threads by liking then and going to the "liked" tab and use the "all time" setting. So I don't think it's too important to see who likes it or the number of likes it has.

No point really. Also, if you want to see the last person who "liked" your post or thread, just enable notifications so you get one when something you wrote is liked. When the notification comes, just right click their avatar in the notification bar and copy and paste the URL into another window. Only works for the last person to like it, so it's one at a time and the most recent person.

If you ignore the e-peen reason, I don't see much value left over in displaying such metrics. PS: your notifications can be setup to notify you when a post/topic of your creation has been liked.
