Do you consider someone with a GED to be less intelligent than someone who has a high school diploma?
I asked this because due to a messed up child hood I wanted to get my GED. My plan is to get a PHD in physics. I wanted to know what everyones view on this is.

I got mine because I knew that I was wasting my time sitting in class not learning anything. Especially when a guidance counselor pulled me into her office halfway through senior year and told me that I would not graduate since I didn't have a full credit for a freshman year history course. I reminded her that SHE recommended that I take a more advanced history course (in order to challenge myself) for my freshman year, I asked her about the requirement and that she had told me that taking the more advanced course would "grandfather" the requirement. She then lied and said that she did no such thing and that my only option was to take the course over summer after everyone else had graduated. I replied that she was ignoring the better alternative. She said that there was no alternative. I said, "Sure there is. I drop out today, take the GED next week, and you go -blam!- yourself." And that is what I did. I doubt that she did what I thought that she should.
