Requesting backup from a random player?

So Destiny is meant to be social, and we know you can have the option to play solo or to let the game phase in random players to fight with you. What I want is the ability to send out a beacon for a random player who is currently not fighting. So say I find a dead ship drifting through space and i want to explore it, but it looks like it's infested with several dozen Hive zombies, I simply drop a beacon from my ship and wait a minute for someone to respond. Now on the end of the receiver anyone in the Last City who is eligible/right level will have an option to fast travel to me in their ship, they arrive, and we work together to defeat the Hive and get the loot. I'd like this because I will want to be solo for exploring, but for difficult combat I'd like a buddy. This would also be convenient for people who have already explored the world and want to level another character, they simply wait in the last city for a chance to do a lot of killing. Discuss.

  • Ive seen this come up a few times and I like the idea but there is one problem that I must agree with. How to keep this untrollable. That is the biggest issue. If there arent enough limitations on the ability, people will abuse it.

  • Maybe they could have a universal mic open for everyone on the map. You could send Posse invites to players drifting around Red Dead Redemption, so I could see it being like Forge World where you can see players dropping in and out of the map or chapter you're involved in. Each one should have the same goal you have in order to finish the quest, so most likely you could cajole a random into helping you out. Deep down though with the problems on XBL I believe Bungie really needs to emplace mechanics that heavily reward players for cooperation and teamwork to get players to stop trying to frag each other and see one another as a benefit rather than a hindrance.
