Can someone please ban politics/religion threads again?
seriously, I've had to literally mute half of the off topic forum due to the stupidity that happens in those threads just like the mods keep on telling us to do, and now there's literally no discussion and the forums are boring as hell. can someone please do the off topic a favour and just get rid of these threads and actually bring life into the off topic forum again?

6 RepliesI can (and will) promise you this. When we have the ability to hide (based on a personal kill list) specific tags, I will diligently add/update any and all political and religious topics so that they are appropriately tagged with #politics and/or #religion. Currently, many of those topics are not tagged with those markers. But if the web team gives us the ability to hide threads based on tags that we "don't want to see, ever"? I will make it a goal to make sure that all of those topics are tagged appropriately so that members who kill-filter the tag(s) will not see them. Until that feature exists, there's not much point in making the effort to tag them. But if/when we have that ability? I will do all that I can to make sure that they are tagged and people who don't want to see them, never will. Is that any help?

Tag this under #Feedback. Also, I completely agree. The least they could do is give us a "Mute Tag" button. Seriously growing tired of threads like "Atheism Rulez" and "Jesus is better than Allah" and "Oberma is stupid!!!1!" and "-Blam!- Republicans!"

3 RepliesSo if you ban the topics OP, why do you think the forums will come alive? They won't. People who enjoy those topics will just leave or not come here as often. The forum will be dead.

For atleast the time being it will still be around, some groups have it blocked. Basically you have to go to those or just get used to ignoring them.

3 RepliesBetter idea: Instead of catering to the desires of one group of people and angering another group in the process, introduce a feature that the whole site can enjoy: tag-muting. It's been suggested before, and I don't see anything wrong with it. Those that want to can browse the forums without seeing topics tagged #politics, #religion, or anything else that doesn't strike their fancy.
