When I was about 9, I wanted to watch Harry Potter but my grandmother wouldn't let me, when I asked her why she said that it was because it had talking snakes in it which meant it was honoring the devil. Unfortunately for my grandmother my young mind interpreted this as saying "You have to choose between religion and snakes." As a looked at a framed picture of Jesus later that day, I suddenly thought to myself; 'Do you know what's cooler than some dead guy? Snakes.'
So what was your first revelation? When did you first think "Hey, I'm a(n) ______."

Religion has never made sense to me. Even as a kid I found the entire practice extremely odd. As I grew older and started to realize I was being lied to about other things that seemed far too convenient i.e. Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, I thought to myself, "There must not be a god either."
