  • Wear something that's easily identifiable from a distance if you want people to be able to spot you. Don't forget to get copies of ALL your credit card transaction receipts, there's been trouble with padded charges at a few places before. Keep an eye on your bank account for the month after PAX, we had one bad year where a lot of credit card numbers got used for fraudulent purposes from stolen data. Cash will occasionally, but not always, get you discounts at vendor booths. Don't be afraid to check out the Table Top & PC Freeplay rooms. You can meet great people, discover incredible games, and have a lot of fun in unlikely situations. Make the most out of your lines. Remember, everybody at PAX is going to share at least one thing in common: a love of gaming. Don't be afraid to strike up a conversation, because you could be in line for a long time (especially for panels or game demos). Enforcers are your friends. If they ask you to tighten up a line or move out of the doorway, please do it! They're not being dicks to you, they're just trying to make the situation safe and sane(ish) for everybody. If you get lost, or bored, or don't have a clue what to do next, ask an Enforcer and you'll probably always get a dozen different answers that are equally valid. Don't be afraid to take time to recharge. Being in huge crowds can be draining even to the most gregarious person, and there's nothing wrong with going for a walk to catch some food or drink or just plain fresh air. Food costs more the closer it is to the convention center. A six-eight block walk can save you sixteen bucks to sixty bucks depending on what you're after.
