(bear in mind, this is all just opinion)
Now, i think it's fair to say that the past few series haven't been the best. Yes, there have been some good episodes but i am of the opinion they are overwhelmed by the mediocre and less-than-mediocre ones that ran alongside them.
but this series (7 part 2) seems to be different. apart from the first two episodes which i found meh they have all been quite interesting and thoroughly enjoyable in their own particular way. i don't want to jump the gun here cos the finale's next week and i am not looking forward to finding out The Doctor's name, but the way this series is going we might be onto a winning year for Matt Smith; not to mention the 50th anniversary is looking like it's gonna be awesome too (not that i've seen a lot; i'm deliberately keeping myself in the dark as much as possible). i can genuinely say that i'm looking forward to Doctor Who this year which i haven't been able to say for a good while.

Edited by HurtfulTurkey: 5/13/2013 3:48:57 PMFor a show that used to be the British equivalent of Wishbone, I'd say it's doing alright. Plus, it has Clara.

I haven't watched Doctor Who since David Tennant left.

I kind of liked the new series. Clara is an interesting companion so far in my opinion. Also, did anyone understand the end of the finale?
The part where The Doctor and Clara jump inside The Doctor's timeline. Has The Doctor chosen not to have a name to distance himself from an 'evil' regeneration?
Yeah, I've quite liked the series so far. It's definitely better than Matt Smith's first two series. I also really like Clara. "She's a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, squeezed into a skirt that's just a little too... tight."

Hide has been the only really great episode so far this (half) series. Cold War, Bells and Nightmare were all okay, Rings and Crimson Horror were little bit rubbish, although Rings had dat monologue. The earlier half of series 7 had some stonkers; Asylum, Mercy, Three, and Angels were all great. My guess is the Pond chemistry helped a lot.

Edited by Circadian Wolf: 5/13/2013 10:12:14 AMHonestly I'm liking the series less and less. Matt Smith is a good doctor and plays the role very well but the writing is so mediocre, it's become too much of a childrens program. Dr who is supposed to be scary, have children hiding behind the sofa when the daleks or cybermen walk onscreen, instead it's been severely dumbed down in order to fulfill the modern tv show agenda of getting people to just stare at the screen the whole time. I really hope they come up with a good explanation for clara to finish this season or perhaps the next one, because if they don't I might actually be done with the series, god forbid.

Aside from the fitty he's now got with him, its been rather shit
-
It'd be awesome if the Doctor's name was simply 'Who'.
-
Was it you who was singing Mark Gatiss's praises? Anyway, I watched The Crimson Horror and it was pretty bad. I mean, good compared to a lot of the writing for Doctor Who in the last two or three years, but it still had a godawful resolution and some pretty bad dialogue.
-
This has been the worst series since its comeback in 2005.
-
No, it's not. I hope Matt Smith dies and then we can get a different The Doctor in. I hope he develops, like, lung cancer or something.
-
There's only been a handful of good episodes this season, and the last two have been pretty woeful.
-
It's been good so far, but I fear the Doctor's Name and the 50th Anniversary episode may knock it back. Moffat's made an absolutely GIGANTIC retcon in the 50th Anniversary episode and it's honestly stupid.

I think this series has been fantastic, and is the best since the series where Martha was the Doctor's companion. The Amy and Rory series sucked big time, I thought they were terrible. But yeah this series has been great. Clara is a cool companion and I'm really interested in finding out what is up with this chick. And, in my personal opinion I am really looking forward to next week's episode. I want to find out what the Doctor's name is, the more lore the better.

The only Dr Who episode I liked was Tooth and Claw
-
The only episode I liked in series seven is The Bells of Saint John.
