Is there some kind of disadvantage to adding a fifth claw to the thumb? I know that all four fingers that do have a claw flex in the same direction, simplifying the process. If there was a claw on the thumb it might get in the way of the other fingers. Besides, the free thumb is better off because it can hold and grip things in the palm of the hand. However, what advantages might be given by a fifth claw?
