  • Halo turned into irredeemable dogshit the second 343i got their hands on Reach. Seriously they removed all DLC playlists, limited split screen to only one guest on all playlists, and their TU was just plain bad. Halo 4 looked like they were gonna fix everything that went wrong with what they did to Reach, but no they just gave us the Middle Finger.

  • Anniversary is when Halo died. Personally I think Reach as-released was a good Halo game. The only thing I felt was truly broken about it on a gameplay perspective was Armor Lock, but all you had to do was play and make games where that wasn't an option. Jetpack also broke a lot of maps not explicitly designed with Jetpack in mind. I know my opinion is not popular but you will not convince me otherwise, so don't try flaming me. With Anniversary re-introducing shield bleedthrough, the entire sandbox got thrown entirely out of balance. You could still have a sliver of shield, get headshot by a Magnum/DMR, and die, which is bullshit on all kinds of levels. I won't even get into bringing back the 3sk handcannon CE magnum. This was, as the poll put it, a sign of Call of Duty: Halo 4. The combat degenerated from skill and tactics to who-shot-first.

        Reach is the [i]obvious[/i] answer. Though I could see why one would pick Wars/ODST because that is when the milking began, but those where pretty solid games. But Reach is just crap and put Halo on the road to failure. Everyone who voted Halo 2 is clearly delusional, and everyone who voted Halo 4 didn't understand the question. Halo 4, while a horrible game and quite possibly worse then Reach, inherited everything that was wrong with Reach (except for armor lock). So the "wheelchair" started with Reach, and 343i just continued down the road that Bungie created with Reach: the road to failure.

            For multiplayer, I'd say it was Reach, though I can see why someone would pick any of the other ones, really. I don't really think it has gone downhill in terms of campaign, seeing that ODST and 4 were two of the better ones, in my opinion.

                I say it started with Halo 2. -They got rid of fall damage. -The got ride of the health pack system. -They got rid of weapon niches. In Halo CE each weapon is useful and it has its own niche. After that game every Bungie Halo has a lot of useless weapons. -They increased the aim assist.

                • Interpreting statistics: 1: well if you didn't like CE why are you here? 2: Biggest change other than 4, also the easiest to play and most "noobified" other than 4. 3: Pretty mcuh the same as 2, so if you didn't like 3 you vote for 2. Reach: Very different to the previous two games and harder to get into, so some people didn't like it. Spinoffs: never tried to replace the main game so I don't think anyone holds much animosity towards them. 4: Anyone who's played it understands.

                  • As soon as I heard about Anniversary edition, I realized 343 was going in with a couple of objectives: 1) Use a classic, beloved, and original game as a stepping stone for their studio. 2) Not have to really be that creative, anyone can take a simple clean design (less polygons) and add 3 times as many ("enhanced" graphics) and still make a lot of money Taking it as a "tribute" is BS, what a creative tribute would've been is a game that might've explored other events that were happening on Halo while MC was doing his thing. Following Sgt Johnson or something, maybe. That would've been fine, but they just needed to practice with something easy (copying) that would pay well to keep M$ happy. Talk about the polar opposite mindset of the independent studio which bore the idea of Halo to the world. They roughed up my baby. I definitely wasn't cool with that.
