You know, I wish they'd make a console pokemon game again.

I couldn't help but think this after hearing this song. I remember playing games like Pokemon Coliseum and Gale of Darkness when I was younger and loving the experience. I wish they'd make another one like it with today's technology and pokemon. (And yes, I also really want the game to have a badass soundtrack)

  • Pokemon Colosseum was amazing. XD was good too but I will always prefer Colosseum. When you beat Evice for the first time it feels so -blam!-ing GOOD

  • I like the idea of one, as long as it doesn't follow the exact same formula as the main handheld ones.

  • I would like to see a Wii U game that features all of the regions (or maybe just a few like Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh since they are all close together) and you can choose which region you start in. You could wirelessly explore with others and batter too. You would be given one starter at the beginning of each region but you can still catch them (they woulld be very rare) in the wild. You wouldn't be able to catch many legendaries since there is only one of certain ones like Mewtwo, Mew, Arceus, etc. but ones like Celebii would be extremely rare. You could also have your Pokemon walk with you and customize your character. If possibly battles wouldn't be turn based but constant. I wouldn't want to control my Pokemon's actions, just tell them what to do like a trainer while they do the fighting. There would also be no levelling up or health, attack, defence, etc stats. I would solely depend on the connection between you and your Pokemon and how often you train together. The game pad could be your menu and Pokemon team. It would have a map on it, your inventory, and everything else we have come to expect from Pokemon games. There could also be actual tournaments and major events (like Team Rocket/Magma/Aqua/Plasma/etc attacking) where tons of players could all play together. You could possibly have the choice to join teams like Team Rocket/Plasma/etc but that could messup gameplay. You could keep your Pokemon that aren't on your team in a ranch or at a Pokemon lad where you could walk amongst them while they run around and do what they want. What do you think?

      • The only console Pokemon game I really want is a Pokemon Snap sequel on the Wii U, it was built for that game obviously.

        • They'll probably announce one at E3. A new game like Coliseum would be nice instead of a game like Stadium.

        • Considering how Pokemon is basically the only significant handheld franchise in gaming, it wouldn't be a smart move for them to introduce an alternative to the handheld version.

          • I think it would be fun having one that's an open world game. Depending on the sizes of the cities and towns they can either be included in the open world or they are their own area in the game.(Like the cities in Skyrim.) For the combat I think it would be fun playing as the Pokemon. The combat for that can be something similar to how it is in the show.

          • As do I. I think the mechanics and what not that are in Red Dead Redemption would be perfect for a console type Pokemon game. I'm not saying the game should be like Red Dead (obviously) I mean that there's certain things in the free roaming game play of it that would be perfect for a Pokemon game. It would still be a Pokemon game just with a lot of the free roam capabilities that Red Dead has. I hope that makes sense, 'cause it doesn't seem to make sense outside of my mind when I try explaining it.
