So, I've been watching Cable TV for a few days, watching my parents house...
Cable is Worthless. Why? Too many damn ads. Why do people torture themselves with this crap?
Same goes for people without Adblock on their browser. Same goes for people who stream music and have to deal with ads every so often.
I feel i buy products more when they don't but into my leisure time, trying to pitch their crap with terrible humor and purposeful race adversity.
This thread was inspired by a Lowes commercial that sounds like a really lame song about love, then pitches new refrigerators, washers and driers.

I don't use adblock on sites that I frequent, or people I'm subbed to, I like to support the people I like, and keep their service free as well. Yeah the ads are annoying sometimes but at least I don't have to pay some stupid monthly fee just so those people are supported.
Same goes for people without Adblock on their browser.
Well I'd like to keep the internet free. I don't want a pay-wall for every website I visit just because the majority of the internet doesn't want an ad on the left or right of their screen. Remember it is ads that keeps the majority of the website running. Without those ads those sites are forced to put up a pay-wall in order to stay alive. Give me ads over a pay-wall anytime. (And yes I browse the internet without using add-block)

Adverts the old way don't work on the younger generation and marketers know this, so they think putting random ad's with humour will help them reach out to us. Doesn't work, they have gone as far as making controversial ad's which get taken off the air to try and stand out to us and be different. We have really messed up that industry just by being born lol

Ha! I've been hearing that ad on Spotify a lot lately. It does get pretty annoying.

Edited by Camnator: 5/20/2013 7:36:43 AMIt's funny because ads were supposed to make cable free, yet now we also have to pay a service provider. I haven't had cable since they canceled Freedom Watch, and yes, I canceled cable for that reason.

Edited by VerticalGradient: 5/20/2013 7:35:48 AMI feel similarly, except toward news sources (mostly TV, and sometimes internet news sites). I don't trust most of it. Call me paranoid. I take a glimpse at the news on TV, and I immediately become frosty toward it. Don't really have an issue with most TV shows (though I haven't kept up with a TV show in a number of years) . . . ads have pretty much no effect on me.
