Who was more effective in containing Communism: Truman, Eisenhower, or Kennedy?
Need some help with this one... Not doing a poll because I need [i]reasons[/i]...

Not Truman, the USSR was very powerful at the time and was expanding after the end of WW2. Kennedy didn't last for long, Ike takes this easily.

1 ReplyI'd say Kennedy, as he did more. The Bay of Pigs and starting the Vietnam War.

Ike. Made SAC into a powerhouse, initiated ICBM development, and even though the Interstate Highway project was externally a civil works project, it was designed as a long series of interconnected landing capable airfields that spanned the nation. He built the stick that Kennedy used to get Kruschev to blink when it came to missiles in Cuba.
