It's practically a given that the protagonists in the Halo TV series will be of the human variety - who do you think they should be?
I would prefer that they not focus on the chief - you've already spent 4 games with him as the (mostly) silent protagonist.
Focusing on something else - (preferably during the main human-covenant war rather than the 343 cul-de-sac) would allow Spielberg much more creative freedom and a take on the war beyond the visor of an invincible super-soldier.
A squad-based series would probably be ideal - just take a look at Bungie's Landfall to see the sort of things that could happen. Funded by MS, with a vastly bigger budget, and with Spielberg at the helm, they'll have to try very hard to screw this one up.

I echo the opinion of many who say it should be a Band of Brothers-style show. Whether it follows a squad of Marines, ODSTs, or Spartans, I'm open.
-
It's actually me.
-
A group of quirky and aimless 20somethings, come together through the ODST ranks, while trying to weather raging storms within themselves and on a galactic scale.
-
Oh god I just know it's going to be a pile of shit. It'll be like Stargate Atlantis.
-
Spartan-IVs I'm assuming. Like Halo: Infinity.
-
Obviously it's going to be about a stranded Grunt on his journey to find the holy food nipple.

Get Nathan Fillion to play Buck.
