.....................on the moon?
EDIT: to have wind the moon needs an atmosphere, now we know that terraforming is possible, but if that was the case, why can't we see the atmosphere? terraformed mars and Venus don't have invisible atmospheres, and in the scene it's clearly not night time on the moon, so what gives?

Maybe the moon just had a lot of Taco Bell. Taco Tuesday!

The answer is pretty obvious.
Guardians have the ability to wield some of the Traveler's power. The warlock uses it to shoot energy balls. The hunter uses it to make his cape flap anywhere.
Something I posted elsewhere. Applies here.

I noticed that too but it's nothing to get upset about

It's 700 years in the future. If there's a giant ball able to float over a city, then there's a way they could have added an atmosphere to the moon. Since there's no vegetation, I'm guessing a its progress or was before "it" wiped most of "us" out.

Edited by Lord Decitron: 5/25/2013 1:07:00 AMTHERE ARE EVEN DAILY STORMS ON THE MOON. Bungie DID mess up on one thing though; one wouldn't see the stars from the moon during the day; the sun is so bright, it effectively "out shines" them. Go look at any footage or pics from the moon landings, and you'll see no stars at all.

This is 700 years in the future. Most or all of the planets are likely terraformed. You could also wonder how forests got on Venus, when in modern day it is a volcanic wasteland.

That seems interesting to point out as unrealistic with the giant alien sphere floating above Earth, the Warlock's magic powers, and the armies of aliens.
-
Radiation from the sun. Everyday the Earth is bombarded by roughly the same amount of mass as Mount Everest in coronal ejections in the form of solar winds... But Earth is much deeper into it's own magnetic field than the moon, which has no field.

Solar wind.

IT'S CALLED TERAFORMING GOD DAMMIT

I read a book where they had atmosphere generators which was pretty dang cool. Maybe the Hell mouth is a large atmosphere generator.

Giant floating ball...... ............. Over a city? Magic................ ............ Out of a person's hand? It's a sci-fi/fantasy game. It's not meant to match reality. If there were no atmosphere, hunters and warlocks couldn't go to the moon without space suits (assuming the Titan's suit is air tight like the Mjolnir armor). If you really need an explanation, remember Destiny takes place after humanity's golden age. We very well may have created an atmosphere on the moon.

..Or maybe that hunter was just so badass his cloak moved of its own volition.

Edited by external: 5/24/2013 8:07:01 AMHalcylon already got rustled about people pointing it out, so it's likely not any kind of story detail. No terraforming or Traveler magic magnetosphere going on here. Just art major physics (laziness).
