I have a suspicion that possibly enemies like these big beasties could [i]occasionally[/i] be directly controlled on the Bungie end. Am I way off base?

It's possible, though it's have to be Matt Noguchi (spelled that wrong?) since he's supposedly the scariest person to play against in destiny.
