NFL MVP Adrian Peterson says he has family members who are gay whom he loves and respects. But on gay marriage, the Minnesota Vikings running back says "that's not something I believe in."
Hmm, so exactly like my belief.
Not agreeing with gay marriage =/= hating gays
-
Respectable. Hell, I bang dudes and I'm against gay marriage.

Wait. So he loves them, treats them equally but doesn't want them treated equally regarding marriage. wtf.

Yep, his opinion is so important.

Edited by M37h3w3: 5/28/2013 4:33:01 AMWho the -blam!- is Adrian Peterson and why the -blam!- should I care? Also: 'I don't believe in gay marriage' is about on equal footing as 'I don't believe in the sun.' Gay marriage exists, it's happening right now, and people are pushing for it to happen everywhere. 'Not believing' in it is literally the same thing as saying you don't believe in the sun. It's asinine. Also: How the -blam!- did PSU get off my mute list? Goddam troll.

Edited by Crash: 5/28/2013 1:45:55 PMSo are you also against inter-racial marriage? I mean, the same logic is applicable here.
-
We never thought you hated them, that you just don't perceive them as equals. Same with blacks in the civil rights movements, many didn't hate them, but thought they shouldn't have equal rights.
-
Edited by Flee: 5/28/2013 12:26:22 PMI love how "because it's not something I believe in" is the one and only 'argument' he can come up with. This is exactly why gay marriage is inevitably coming to the US too. Way too late, of course, but that was to be expected from the country. There's just no good or genuine reasons to oppose it. Irrational bigotry, religious beliefs that hold no weight whatsoever and "the thought of two men kissing makes me go eeewwww" are the only things those people can bring up. And that's why the opposition will fail.
-
I'm really glad that Mr Peterson weighed in with his opinion as he's so well known for the depth and appositeness of his socio-cultural commentary. Thanks heavens the heavyweights are finally getting involved...
-
Yeah, it doesn't mean that you hate gay people, just that you're a homophobic moron.
-
Not agreeing with gay marriage =/= hating gays
So with that logic, does not agreeing with interracial marriage =/= hating other races?
-
Not agreeing with gay marriage = being a judgemental prick!
NFL MVP Adrian Peterson says he has family members who are gay whom he loves and respects. But on gay marriage, the Minnesota Vikings running back says "that's not something I believe in."
"I'm not racist a lot of my friends are black"
-
Just so everyone is clear, OP is troll, and his argument is wrong regardless. Even if hate wasn't the reason behind the opposition to gay marriage, the term marriage does not belong to any religious denomination. Gay marriage is a civil right, it causes no harm, and God dammit it is 2013, the fight for a basic human rights should be long over, especially here in America.

Edited by Abe Lackman: 5/28/2013 1:12:59 AMWould you care to elaborate on why you don't believe gays should get married? I keep hearing people say things like they tolerate or even support gays, but are against gay marriage. Yet I never hear why, or at least logical, non-religious, non-discriminatory reasons why.
-
Oh thank god he spoke out or I wouldn't know what to think. Best back in the NFL? Yes. However is he an idiot for going against something that has no logical reason for going against? Yes.
-
Why the -blam!- would anyone care what Adrian Peterson has to say about gay marriage?
-
Excellent player, excellent thinking. More respect for AP.
-
Why are some of you responding if you don't care?
-
Whatever is cool with him I guess and I'm sure a lot others share the same views as him.

Edited by Y SO REACH BETA: 5/28/2013 3:40:21 AMWhy the hell would you deny someone their rights? No government on the face of the Earth should be able to outlaw marriage between two loving adults.
