I really enjoyed the video, it's great to sometimes step back and talk about why we love something and why it's simply awesome (a description which is pretty fitting for the series). Halo is something that has stuck with me for what's going on 12 years now. Like you said, the thing that really attracts me to Halo is the story which has expanded (and will continue to expand) in ways I never imagined. What started out as a pretty run of the mill sci-fi action story heavily influenced by Ringworld, Aliens and so on has found its feet and transformed into a universe spanning over 100 billion years of lore with an underlying theme of Lovecraftian cosmic horror. Unfortunately, I fear that many people here will perhaps not be as fair and balanced in their comments as it's commonplace for preachments and melodramatic exclamations of hatred for the more recent releases and an unreasonable amount of praise for Bungie who (people would have you believe) can do no wrong.
