  • Seriously?.... OK, Xbox players aren't getting the "shaft". We are getting the game and any "exclusive" will either be cosmetic or limited time. No company wants to develop for multiple versions of a game at the same time so the exclusive stuff won't be anything huge and game changing. Sony is being much nicer to developers this time around and by many accounts Microsoft is not being so nice. It has been said that Microsoft is currently making many of the same mistakes with developers this time around that Sony made with the PS3. I am speculating here but I would imagine that I am not too far off on this.... When Sony came around offering deals for exclusive content and "big title" pushes for the PS4 I would guess that they simply offered a better deal than Microsoft was willing to. Activision took that deal, as well they probably should have. Now when a company signs such a deal the contract simply will not allow a developer to give their competitor the same benefits that they get. (It defeats the point of making such deals to begin with.) This is why you will not see Destiny at both the PS4 and Xbox One events at E3, or any place else for that matter. It also explains why you will probably see PS4 listed as the first or only named console on any given bit of advertisement for the game. We will probably see this from more developers yet given the rumors of how MS is treating them. If this is all nearly as true as it seems to be then MS deserves what they get and they will learn from it (one hopes) just as Sony apparently did. Yet here "we" are, blaming the developer because the maker of "our" preferred console wouldn't pony up this time around. Personally, I don't care which system gets the exclusive stuff. I want both systems to do reasonably well to maintain competition and give us (the gamers) a better product at a better price in the end. I currently own both the 360 and PS3, I had the first Xbox and a PS2, (and more systems going back longer than I care to remember) I will eventually have both the Xbox One and the PS4. The one I buy first will depend on which better suits my needs. All this brand loyalty is slightly mind boggling to be honest. Both companies seek to do their best to drain your wallet/purse of money. You paid good money for those systems and games you have, why do you feel that you magically owe them your allegiance to this extent? I get liking a particular system, group of games or company but I don't understand this hatred for the "other side". Has all rational thought simply left people these days? I remember being taught to think critically about what I was buying, getting the best for my money and not falling into that trap of thinking a company was my very own best friend. In the end, if you like the Xbox One then buy it when it comes out. You will still be able to play the game just fine and probably have a hell of a lot of fun doing so. If you like the PS4, then buy it when it is available you will also be able to play the game just fine and I am sure have the same "hell of a lot of fun" while your at it. Honestly the only people who should be worried or upset right now are the PC folks (yes I have one also for gaming). The game may not even be available on this platform and that sort of makes any bickering about a bit of exclusive content for the other systems seem a little childish. Anyway, instead of going on to Bungie about leaving Xbox players out in the cold and all of that, why don't we think of some reasons why things are going as they are. We may find that what Bungie is doing isn't so bad, won't matter all that much or isn't even their doing. Until we have some sort of real answer this is all fairly pointless and certainly tiring to wade through. Good day all
