People have been saying, especially after Newtown, that are schools aren't safe enough, and it's kind of true. It's sad that we have more protections for our banks, than our schools. More security measures for our money, over our children.
So, tell me. How do you suggest increasing safety in schools? Obviously people don't like Gun Control measures as they say it won't help, so propose an alternative.
I suggest that all schools be given grants to buy Protection Films for Windows and Doors leading into the schools. While not 100% effective for bullets entering, it prevents the glass from being shattered to allow for faster response before violence occurs.
Flood, thoughts?

There is not much that can be done. 99% of schools are totally insecure. If you go to school. Imagine you have a handgun and you are crazy. What stops you from taking the gun into school in your backpack? For nearly all of you who go to a school the answer is probably absolutely nothing. Nobody would know about a gun in a backpack. In terms of elementary school with younger children the best thing to do is lock the doors so that people cannot just walk in. In a high school the threat is different. The main threat is a student with a gun. In a high school environment there is just no way that every student can be screened airport-style before entering the building. The only thing I can think of that would really help middle and high schools from student shooters is more preventative measures to identify threats before they are truly credible.
