If a marriage system is included in the game (and I sort of doubt it will be) I see no reason why there shouldn't be same sex marriages.
If the near extinction of our entire species, the constant threat of annihilation by alien invaders and the general struggle to survive doesn't get people past all this "worrying about the small stuff"...... Well there may not be much hope for us.
If the argument against is "that's not why i'm here", well don't get married to anyone in game. Much the same rules apply in game as in real life. If you don't want to get married than don't, and in the words of Whoopi Goldberg: "If you're against gay marriage than don't marry a gay guy, its that simple".
For my own part even if the game allows marriage I would not partake in that particular system. I have a wife, she isn't going to play but I have no intention of saying those or similar vows to anyone else. Even if it is just for fun/pretend/whatever. That does not mean however that I would presume to tell others that they should feel the same (and that doesn't even touch on real world couples wanting to marry in game).

I am very sorry but only an idiot would make that comparison, and state it in such a way as to be nonsensical. Child labor is a problem in many places of the world, the problem is generally made worse because so few in the first world have any real understanding of it. This leads to people ignoring the problem or when they do hear of it, taking action that ends up making things worse. You call same sex marriage evil. Well let me ask you this, how has a single same sex couple being together ever brought harm to you?

Honestly, if we all went by what the Bible tells us to do we could quickly reduce the population of the US just based on the offenses that are supposed to be punished with death. Remember you are subject to stoning just for working on Sunday (well the Sabbath) and that is just a single example. I have read the Bible multiple times, front to back. I have done the same with other religious texts (Tanakh and Quran along with texts on ancient religions). Reading any of that doesn't give me special permission to force my beliefs on anyone else, just as I would not accept anyone else forcing their beliefs on me. Given that this is a game I think it is even more ridiculous to worry about the made up pixels "living in sin".

The difference is, while you ignore child labor, a child is getting worked to the bone. If you ignore gay marriage, two guys or two girls might have had sex while you weren't looking. Big deal.
