I am considering buying a motorcycle, and seek guidance. I've got some questions:
1. What model do you recommend for a fairly urban environment, with a budget preferably under $4,000 (less is better)?
2. How do you prevent yourself from getting too hot while wearing protective equipment? I live in Phoenix and it regularly gets around 115 during the day, and the idea of wearing a layer of heavy leather over my body is a bit daunting.
3. In your experience, how much in maintenance costs should one expect over the course of a year from regular riding, and assuming you don't fall?
4. Would you honestly recommend a motorcycle over spending more for a car? I plan on using it for a year and a half until I graduate. I've read that motorcycles tend to retain their value and that assuming I don't put a ton of miles on it and it's still in good condition I'd be able to sell it for roughly the same price I bought it for (at a used price).
If you've got any beginner advice or helpful sites, I'd appreciate it as well. Thanks Flud.
