Q&A with him here.

Ahhhh

A. the Chinese turn him over, there's a trial, and if he isn't lucky he gets screwed. Liberal media will accuse republicans of using this as political weapon against obama. Hollywood makes a depressing, inspirational, and aggravating movie about him. Approval ratings drop for a little while. B. a sort kinda shadowy organization hides him. Chinese intel hoping to get stuff from him, Russian Mob, Triads

The information the government got from Verizon was barely more than what is available publicly in your local White Pages. I'd be willing to bet a lot of people freaking out about the leak would actually agree with the program if they actually knew what it did.

Good job, man; good job. You'll go down as a traitor because of the media hating you, and as a terrorist against the government. Your actions may or may not carry on. I'm sick and tired of being lied to by people. At least he had the balls to speak out from a higher level than we do.
-
Why are we treating this man like an enemy?
-
Moved to Guantanamo for his own safety!

I might go off the deep end if this man gets punished for this. Someone needed to do it sometime.
-
It's sad when the American people call to prosecute heroes like him.
-
I am happy with this. Government is doing some -blam!-ed up stuff, and this guy said "No, I need to tell the public about what is happening" Shame some American news outlets are passing him off as a traitor, for whatever reason.
-
Funny how people keep exposing the government of crimes yet they're never held accountable. Oh, but tyranny is impossible, guys!
-
Aside from the data collection the things that bug me: A contractor was given this level of access. He fled to Hong Kong (China) which is essentially an adversarial country.

Edited by brandorobot: 6/10/2013 2:21:03 AMHim and Bradley Manning are heroes, they knew the potential consequences yet still acted on what they believed was right. The American people deserve to know what the hell is going on, but yet the media will spin this in a way to turn them against him. It's a sad state of affairs when they can convince the population that ignorance is bliss.

Good man. It's a shame he'll probably be charged with treason. He is truly an American hero.
-
an hero

This gives me mixed feelings.. On one side it makes me sad and angry to see how rotten US is but on the other hand individuals like him give me hope. Hope that will most likely be "made to disappear" in the following weeks..
-
Good man.
-
Give this man the Presidential Medal of Freedom!
-
Smart man, if he'd have been found out without everyone knowing it was him he might have been disappeared somewhere.
-
butt why would he do such a thing?
-
it's not like the government can send death squads to any American contracted with Verizon - the size of the data is extraordinarily large, certainly not conducive to a refined search. I'm wondering why the American government even bothered with this scheme.
-
First off, I really don't see any wrong with what the government is doing. Second, I'm glad he leaked it, and if the government is defending their program, they shouldn't mind either. The fact of the matter is that this stuff shouldn't be classified.
-
Good man.
-
Also, we've known about this since at LEAST 2005.
-
It was then, he said, that he "watched as Obama advanced the very policies that I thought would be reined in", and as a result, "I got hardened."
That's a few tweaks away from the start of a good fan-fic.

The man has my respect.
