Microsoft will seal the deal against Sony doing this
If Microsoft does offer, let's say a year of Gold with their consoles, Sony is done. Especially if they rewrite their Live policies and allow for more flexibility in their memberships.

True, there will be many many people who would find this alluring enough to purchase an Xbox One and even probably go from a PS4 to it. If Sony doesn't fight back with the same. This console war may actually just improve both consoles with each company trying to top the other in how consumer friendly they can be. Good for us.
