Bungie confirmed that there is a 3 player fireteam on the Mail Sack and I just saw Birdman's post and thought about it and defiantly think there should be more than a 3 person Fireteam, but only if it's compatible with Bungie's engine, if not im fine with 3. Plus there may be more than just 3 classes. Do you think there should be bigger Fireteams or is 3 fine for you?
-
I would be satisfied with 4
-
I get how there are only 3 classes in game, but I hope they up the limit to the fire teams. Nothing crazy or else it would be too hard to manage/ talk to your friends in your squad, I'd say 4 or 5 would be a good number, 6 might be pushing it too far. I hate when your playing a game and a friend comes on to play, and you basically have to ignore them by saying "Sorry were full." Besides they could go the Boarderlands route, more friends= better loot, tougher/harder enemies.
-
I have 4 friends I role with when I play games. So unless there's a way for 2 fire teams to be running around together ( which from the way they're talking about it, this will only happen in public events) then I need a bigger number.
-
What does this mean for co-op play, are we limited to be playing with only 2 friends at a time? That sucks kinda hard if that's true... I thought Destiny would be a more co-op friendly game.
-
I believe 3 is the lowest number you can have to be in a fireteam. So I think you can have more.
-
I wish there would be more than 3 people in a fire team. Three friends and myself have been talking about what classes, races, and factions to roll as in order to play together. If it's limited to three, one person will be left out which is kind of lame :/

By looking at this photo, in the top right corner where it says "squad" you can see the current number of people at "3/6" this is leading me to believe it possible to have 2 fireteams in or out of public events, with a total of 6 friends. so yes three will be the primary number for a Fireteam, however squads can be interplayed to allow 2 Fireteams to join up.

Be aware that fireteams are 3, correct. But it does not say anything anywhere about your party size only being 3.
-
Well, they did say that three players constitutes a fire team, are we sure they meant that's all they have, of is that the MINIMAL.
-
I'm content with 3. It's easy to manage and you can always team up with more friends.
-
I thought the demo at e3 had max size of 6 players for a fire team...or am I thinking of something else?
-
Why doesn't anyone understand that it's not 3 it's 6
-
I am totally okay with fireteams that small as long as you can travel with other fireteams in a squad of some sort. I want more than two friends while in private areas.

Edited by Shadow Iz Me: 6/24/2013 4:54:11 PMIt's a fireteam, meant to be 3 people. For all we know we can have a squad of many fireteams. It makes sense in close dungeons for a small team, but in big public areas I think it's fair to say we can play with a lot of our friends just roaming or doing public events. Just imagine going through the area we saw at E3 with 4 or more people. It would be crowded and too easy. Not as good as an experience with that many people. With just 3, it allows us to have maybe 3 of each class, but just makes it more of a tight-knit group. I personally think 3 is fine for private areas, but definitely we should be able to play with 8+ players out in the wild with groups of fireteams in a squad.
-
I think that four would be better with a limit of Six, three seems kind of low especially if you think of how halo allowed at least 4 player coop
-
Edited by DarkSilver121: 6/23/2013 10:48:28 PM4-6 would be better i think, partially because I'm so used to the fact that most coop games out today allow 4 players, and considering this is next-gen it should (technically) be able to handle more. I hope there is a better reason for 3 member fireteams than "Well, we needed to be able to deliver the same game on the 360 and PS3 that we do on the new systems." Thats a general cross gen worry I have, though. games have to either be dumbed down to work on old gen consoles, or they have to not use at all any features that are exclusive to next gen. I don't like the first because i think its stupid to buy half a game and I don't like the second because why go out and pay $400 or $500 for slightly/moderately better graphics when you can wait for the price to drop and save money by not getting it until games are actually taking advantage of the new systems. Edit: If they have a good reason for staying with 3, such as the ability to take 2 fireteams into a private area where 7 or 8 players would be to many, then I am totally fine with 3. I know some people have suggested story reasons for the number 3, but I don't really believe that to be the case because in that case 3 still seems like a rather arbitrary number. If if the only reason its 3 is because 3 classes, then I feel they are limiting the options players have in combat. having even one extra player allows more options to how the team approaches a situation. I would be far more hesitant to split a 3 player fireteam than I would a 4 player squad because that way everyone still has a partner (to revive them, if for no other reason).
-
Three seems like I'd have to leave out friends a bit too often, so if possible I'd like more.
-
I'm very happy with it standing as 3.
-
I only have two friends I like to play Borderlands with as it is. This works perfectly for me, and allows me a solid excuse for those seeking an invite over just "I don't like the way you play so gtfo".
-
These kinds of disputes are futile since we haven't even PLAYED the game.
-
I suppose 3 makes sense because of the number of classes. But I think 4 seems like a more likely number of friends playing together.
-
3 is a good size, though I would like some way to combine multiple teams like raids in other games.
-
Edited by Trollheim: 6/23/2013 3:32:11 PM3 is such a weird number, it honestly seems wrong to me. Two players is some great bro-op, and four players is your conventional fire team. Maybe they thought "Single player games do really well with 3 member squads, and we want to replicate that feel of smaller squads, so we'll go with 3-player squads". Chrono Trigger, most Final Fantasies, Mass Effect... many of these great RPGs are 3-member squads, but PLAYERS ARE NOT THE SAME AS TEAM MEMBERS.
-
Three is perfect. It's got balanced gameplay and keeps the game a challenge. As I've said many times before, 5 or 6 or 8 people in a firefight would completely and entirely decimate the NPCs in front of you. A squad of one-man armies just doesn't seem fun to me.
-
Considering that I usually play with two or more friends, three players to a team seems a bit low to me. I come from a Call of Duty background so a max six man team would work best in my opinion.
