METAL GEAR SOLID HD REMAKE - FOX ENGINE . GET READY #YearOfTheGears
G'morn all .
Hideo Kojima recently announced that he will be looking for an external developer to create a Metal Gear Solid HD remake utilizing the FOX engine . There is only 2 things left to say ............
YEEEEEEEEEEEEES !!! and ITS ABOUT -blam!-ING TIME KOJIMA !!! Personally I'm pumped for this . I never got to play the mgs solid snake games . Owning an Xbox 360 and Ps2 I've only played MGS2 - SOL(ps2) MGS2 Substance HD and MGS3 Subsistence HD .(Hopefully I can pick up PW soon). Maybe Kojima was hinting this in the MGSV trailers . SNAKE IS BACK! 2014 will be the #YearOfTheGears . Tweet dat now !

I rather have a remake of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake from the MSX instead. I've already played a Metal Gear Solid remake...

2 RepliesThey've already remade MGS 1 as The Twin Snakes on Gamecube. It was excellent, combining the gameplay of MGS2 with the storyline of MGS 1. It still holds up well to this day so I see little reason for them to remake the game again. However if they do, I'll be buying it. That being said, I would MUCH rather they remade Metal Gear 1 and 2 from the NES onto current/next gen platforms. I went back and played MG 1 on an NES emulator and I enjoyed it, but it's just not the same. If they come out with a legitimate remake, fully voiced, cutscenes and all, it would be the top item on my wishlist. Hayter as Snake. Sutherland as Big Boss. Right now. Yes plz.

But since I'm a huge Metal Gear fan, and since the Twin Snakes wasn't good, I'm pretty stoked for it. However, if it's going to be designed with modern gameplay in mind, then the level design needs to be redesigned to accommodate it. Twin Snakes didn't do that; it placed MGS2's gameplay in MGS1 level design, with little-to-no modifications, and it didn't work that well.

WTB Remake of Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake in full HD/3D gameplay in the Fox engine. God damn would I jizz myself if Kojima said he was overseeing that. Honestly, I think a MG2:SS entry done right could potentially be the best in the franchise and one of the greatest games ever, based on the amazing story combined with the Metal Gear franchises already [i]solid[/i] gameplay.

That's interesting, it will probably be more than just a regular HD remake. As long as the cutscenes aren't like The Twin Snakes', I'll be hyped.
