Remembering "the Darkness"
I was just thinking back to the long period of low activity on the site during and after the handover of the rights to Halo and whatnot. Assuming the site update signified the end of the darkness, how long exactly did the darkness last? Do you remember those days?
I thought I'd put a poll in here too, for analysis. Even though I suspect the vast majority of us were here during that time anyway.
We ought to have a Bungie t-shirt saying "I survived the darkness"

Was the darkness also after reach? Because if so i was here but I didn't register until recently.

I'm still waiting on my prize for keeping them company. I'm guessing that it lasted for about 2 years though. Checked in about 2 or 3 times a week just to see who was still around, but didn't enjoy the voidness of the community. But it was a good time for decent conversation. At least most of the kid-Os left. And to those that think that the darkness is still here. You are just being silly. Do you not remember what it was like one year ago?

When I was the first to use the forums on the iPhone I was thinking to myself "DeeJ has rewarded the faithful!" lol!

I kind of came here during the darkness. I created my account sometime in the middle of Reach (but I've been playing Halo from the beginning) and didn't start using the forums until the darkness was under way.

I've been here since 09, so I suppose I survived the full darkness.

I was there from beginning to end. It wasn't all too bad. It made Bnet feel more like a closely-knit community than ever before, but now that feel is gone.

It had its ups and downs, but I made it through.

It was pretty bad. Had to use Reddit for a while due to lack of interesting content on B.old.

Well if what you say is true I arrived during the darkness but I figured it was plenty active heck I would almost prefer it to be smaller so everybody could know each other.

1 ReplyMost of the users who frequent the Community forum were here before and during the Darkness. Most others don't fully understand this category so they don't use it.
