So about the whole Ocelot/Liquid thing...

So I get that Ocelot was pretending to be controlled by Liquid all along. Why did he talk in Liquid's voice though?

  • Because it was liquid in two. He removed it in between 2 and 4. The arms a big give away. It's an actual one in 2, but clearly a prosthetic one in 4 BB why you ignore ;_;

  • because he was part of the patriots he had to make the "liquid" plausible so when the events of MGS2 happened he could get away by saying "it wasn't me it was liquid" but for gameplay reasons it was probably done so we'd know who is who er I mean Nanomachines

    • I just pretend because he was The Sorrow's son grafting the arm on did inadvertently channel the 'spirit' of Liquid, but not to the extent we believed. Ocelot played it up to deceive The Patriots. Let's be honest it was a -blam!-ing stupid plot in the first place, so I can't agree with people who say Kojima ruined it in MGS4. Revolved Ocelot is a much, much more interesting character than Liquid could ever have hoped to be. They should have just brought Liquid back himself. I remember thinking The Phantom Pain was going to be a MGS1-sequel starring Liquid after waking from a coma some years after the events of Shadow Moses. lol

    • MGS4 pretty much retconned that aspect of MGS2. Originally, Liquid's spirit was really supposed to have taken over Ocelot. And it would have made some sense, considering what we learned in MGS3. Still, it doesn't really explain how his vocal cords changed to match those of Liquid's.
