I'm not kidding, in the tower before you meet her there are three object you can interact with. The third is a bloody rag labeled Menarche (Womens first period), then when you activate the Tear, the rag cleans itself.

as weird as I find this question, especially since Ellie is fourteen in the Last of Us. In the Walking Dead T.V. show the women just send people into towns to get some women's hygiene items.
