This is a topic that I assume everyone has at least give some thought to over the time they've lived on this planet, so I though, "Why not make a thread?" So here we are.
It's difficult to think about, and has many variations. This could all simply be a waking dream, you might be in a coma, or perhaps all of your experiences have been made for the entertainment others like in the Truman Show. Honestly, the only limitation is your imagination.
So as the title asks, what would you do if everything, all your happiness and troubles and love were simply constructs created by your mind or others? Would you acts as if nothing had ever happened? Maybe find yourself unable of coping with it all? Would you perhaps even be happy that it was all a lie?
The reason I ask is because I was reading earlier, and a single line stuck out the me. It said
"It would've been nice if everything were just a dream."
which got me. I don't consider myself to be a happy person, and it just made me think over my life and actions and see how much I've messed up or did right.
It just made me think of what my life will be looked on as when I die.
So, edginess aside, what do you think?

I would be slightly surprised, but I would immediately try to find out what happened, what has been happening, and learn about the real world. I'm not the type to get all emotional or whatever else someone might experience as a result.
