Why no Destiny for the Wii U

To my understanding, the Wii U is similar in capabilities to the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Why is Destiny being released for those consoles, but not the Wii U?

  • I had to make an account just to dispute all the ignorance on this page. I understand the majority of the demographic in here are mostly naive teenagers so I'm not surprised. Ive been a gamer since the NES days and have purchased more then half of the home consoles to date. I have no problem admitting the Wii sucked and I'd rather play on the 360 for most games. That being said and all bias or preference aside the Wii U can definitely handle this game especially if the Xbox 360 and PS3 can. 1. The Wii U has 4x the RAM of the 360 and 8x the PS3's. The Power PC based Multi-Core CPU is more powerful core-for-core compared to next generation's x86 (read that carefully before complaining) regardless of its clock speed. The GPU is integrated into the CPU. Simply put it's better then the current gen and with a little work it'll show ascetically. 2. Nintendo has released Resident Evil, Assassins Creed and Black Ops 2 just to name a few games rated Mature with blood and violence they don't care. 3. The online infrastructure can play multi platform games flawlessly. Every feature from the other consoles is present and it lets you use their social network simultaneously. 4. The proprietary disc has the same amount of space as a Blu Ray disc and can hold 50 gb like all the other DL Blu Rays present in the PS3 and next gen consoles so they don't have to split up the discs like the Xbox 360 often does with bigger games. 5. Nintendo knows they haven't been getting much 3rd party support and have gone out of there way to help developers porting and developing games for their platform. Bottom line: The Wii U is more then capable of running this game and as many mistakes as Nintendo makes, they wouldn't have lasted in this market for decades if they weren't in tune with the customers. This game is looking like a classic and if customers want it, Nintendo will recognize it. The only reason I can see for them not releasing a Wii U version is the small install base but it's a new console and that number won't get any bigger without developers like bungie and great games like this.
