California, Central Valley.
-Great if you want to get into agriculture due to it being an area heavily agricultural based. Many jobs available if you want to get into agriculture.
-Bad if you want to go to college. All the colleges (CSU's, UC's and CC's) are filled to the brim due to America pretty much having the soft requirement of getting a bachelor's degree to get a job.
-Good if you want to gain connections to many people. As they say, the more connections you have, the better.
-Bad, unless you don't mind low standards for everything.
-Awesome if you want to have a quiet place to live and cheap housing.
Opinions of the area that you live in?

Northern Indiana. -Florida: Have some sun! Alaska: Have some cold weather! Northern Indiana: To hell with your preferences. -There's lots of corn. If you ever want a tour of the area, I'll be happy to show you all the goddamn cornfields. -It's more liberal than most of Indiana. -Relatively cheap place to live. -Somewhat quiet unless you live closer to Chicago. -Dutchy is there. From the top of my head.
