After finishing Halo: Silentium, i noticed a quote which for some reason just...struck me. The Isodidact asks Chakas (now 343 Guilty Spark) "if he would fire the rings, were it his choice".
And look at this quote from 343 Guilty Spark on the Halo: CE level - Two Betrayls:
343 Guilty Spark: "Last time, you asked me, if it were my choice, would I do it? Having had considerable time to ponder your query, my answer has not changed."
In short, I love Halo.

Are the Forerunner books good? I bought the first one, Cryptum, a couple days ago, and I haven't gotten to reading them yet.
-
What I sill don't get is when 343 in Halo ce speaks to master chief as if he has met him before, just like the quote the op stated and a few other's throughout the game like when 343 comments on MC's armor. I wonder when that will be clarified because it definitely suggests 343 has met MC sometime before.
-
So Guilty Spark is still alive? As much as I love him, I don't know how I feel about that.
-
I remember reading speculation of Halo 3's plot back in '07, and this quote was interpreted to suggest that Master Chief went back in time to fire the Halo's 100,000 years ago. Fun times.

It's Greg Bear. He does good work.

wow really cool find and yes halo is -blam!-ing amazing
-
Masterchief: "My response hasn't changed either, that's NOT going to happen."
-
Silentium is easily the best Halo novel. Brings everything to a full circle.

Edited by NAStheMagiking: 7/12/2013 5:13:16 PMIt was pretty amazing how Silentium tied up so much by its end, and that particular reference was great. The book actually puts a numerous stuff into context, and makes playing through the games again more meaningful.

You would counts as a mind -blam!-?

You just now noticed?

It was cool. That said...I wonder which personality is the dominant one now.
-
isodidact? im so confused. I would read the last book but there is too much of the story that i have to imagine. In other words: i have poor reading comprehension.

Oh look, a reference to an earlier installation in the canon. Cool...
