How did the Zimmerman shooting happen?

What exactly happened? Was Trayvon in the gated community, Zimmerman followed him, and Trayvon just turned around to attack? Why didn't Zimmerman say he was with the watch, and had a gun?

I personally think that Zimmerman should've just served some time, then gotten released. -blam!- ups on both ends, IMO
