Now before I begin, I know exactly what I'm getting myself into here. I'm prepared for the flaming and the insults, but I'm going to put on my brave face here, and finally say something which I believe has been on a lot of other member's minds, but nobody wants to speak up in fear of being ridiculed. Inappropriate
I've noticed some people, if not a lot of people, on these forums somehow think criticizing, comparing, and making rather disgusting comments on a females appearance is okay. Now, I'm not sure what you guys talk about privately or around your "buds" in real life (I mean, I've discussed other people's appearances before to friends in a mature manner) however do you guys do so around the actual girls you're discussing? I'm assuming not, but if you do, seriously, learn better manners.
I know we all like to sit around and post images of models and actresses then critic their looks. It's all in good fun, I acknowledge that and that's fine, but when you're doing so to girls that are SEEING your comments and you're well AWARE they're seeing your comments, what makes you think that's okay? What makes you think because these females post pictures of themselves, that you have the right to say you find them unattractive or compare them to one another? This is NOT okay behavior, and it doesn't matter how much you try to justify it, it never will be okay. If you went up to a girl in public and said "Meh. 5/10. Seen better", you'd be considered an asshole. If you went up to two girls in public and said one was better looking than the other, you're an asshole. Comment on a girl's picture on Facebook saying "You got a good body, your face on the other had...", you'd be considered an asshole. Just because you're anonymous and because these random females post pictures of themselves online, doesn't make you any less of an asshole. Sorry to inform you.
Now before you all just start slurring comments such as;
>"Well don't post pictures of yourself if you care so much!!!", (which still don't justify such horrible behavior) I don't care. I'm content with my appearance, and if I wasn't, no I wouldn't have had posted pictures of myself. It is all in good fun, and shouldn't be no different than a male member posting a picture. Looks are irrelevant on a internet forum.
>"Don't be so insecure!" I can ensure you, I'm not. If I was I would have NEVER made a thread like this. I'm prepared for a ton of insults coming my way for simply making this thread.
>"It's an opinion! Deal with it! I can say what I want online." Sometimes it's best to keep opinions to yourself. We all can be judgmental, and I'm definitely no angel myself, but I don't be going up to be people saying negative comments about things they cannot change. That would make me a mean person. It doesn't matter if you're online or in person, this is still mean.
>"Like if someone posts art online, I'll tell them how I truly feel so they can improve!" Unlike art, you can't change your appearance, and seriously nobody say plastic surgery.
This thread was made out of curiosity, and curiosity alone. I just want to know why you guys think this behavior is okay. I was going to keep this thread within TFS, but I don't think my main target members will be able to see it. I may regret doing so, but come on guys, for once show everyone we're not such a god awful shit-tier forum. I BELIEVE IN YOU!!!

Inappropriate
You handle your responses rather poorly IMO. At least from what I've read. A lot of people give the same response. Why? Because it's kind of true.
I've noticed some people, if not a lot of people, on these forums somehow think criticizing, comparing, and making rather disgusting comments on a females appearance is okay. I'm assuming not, but if you do, seriously, learn better manners.
So many men do this it's not even funny, and for you to think it's only exclusive to this forum is even more ridiculous. I went to an all male high school and they would always talk about the female teachers around other teachers. Sometimes the teachers would participate, sometimes to teachers would turn a blind eyes, others would tell them to stfu. Should they learn better manners? Sure, but I'm sure the person they were talking about would care if the things they heard were positive. Plus, this is an Internet forum, no one really gives a crap about what you care about them.
I know we all like to sit around and post images of models and actresses then critic their looks. What makes you think because these females post pictures of themselves, that you have the right to say you find them unattractive or compare them to one another?
That kind of risk comes with posting your picture on the internet. Don't want it? Don't post it. Sorry, but that's the way it is. We can't cater to a select few.
This is NOT okay behavior, and it doesn't matter how much you try to justify it, it never will be okay.
Never said it was, just saying that's how it is.
Now before you all just start slurring comments such as; >"Well don't post pictures of yourself if you care so much!!!", (which still don't justify such horrible behavior) I don't care. Of course, no matter how hard you try, it's not really going to change who these people are.
>"Like if someone posts art online, I'll tell them how I truly feel so they can improve!" I've seen a shit ton more women do this to guys in person than I have seen guys do it to women, I rarely see it. That's just my experience though. A lot of my responses are kind of half-assed, sorry about that. I didn't bother reading over them so I apologize if something doesn't sound right. I'll probably look at it after you've read, quoted, and pointed out anything stupid.

The anonymity of the internet brings out the worst in some people.

Might as well use this to my advantage: Join "In Destiny We Trust" group....we have candy.

Mostly agreed (didn't see whatever thread led to this though, so I'm missing the context). Must point out though that not all men are horny devils, and not all women are angels. As you admit in your post. Every one is equally shallow. So it comes down to tact. And there are plenty of tactless trolls on the internet unfortunately.

You camwhore in every picture thread on this site, and YOU'RE complaining about sexism? Fucking leave, please.
-
I like to believe that the way a person acts on the internet reflects a little bit of their inner self. Any person can act nice and caring when others are watching, but when you give them anonymity they feel safer being themselves, which isn't always a good thing.

Edited by The Great DanTej: 7/18/2013 4:04:09 AM
What makes you think because these females post pictures of themselves, that you have the right to say you find them unattractive or compare them to one another?
Because they posted the picture of themselves on the internet - If they want attention they'll get it, now if they want the good kind they'll have to work for it like the rest of us. And sorry, but I stopped reading there. -------------------- Actually I should clarify, I don't condone being a dick, but I also don't condone jumping into shark-infested waters and hoping that the sharks will just be nice; and I should also note that the sharks will rip into ANYONE, not just those with two X chromosomes.

So let me make sure I get this absolutely correct. You don't want people to insult others on the Internet right? Are you stupid or just ignorant? This is the Internet where people are anonymous unless they choose to do otherwise as a result very little consequence happens if someone is rude and the same can be said about someone being nice. What is there to gain from being nice other than your own self-gratification? The simple answer is nothing. Even on here where we have user ID's there is very little to gain by being nice. Then if enough people hate you then you can get a new account like some people and do the same thing you can't be IP banned from here so there is no real consequence. The issue you mentioned OP doesn't just affect females it affects everyone on this site in some manner or another people will be rude and some will be nice that is just how it works. The same can be said about real life to a lesser degree some people will be rude and others will be nice. The only difference about the Internet is most people won't hold back. If they think you are ugly they will tell it to your face or to other people's faces. You thread won't change that and just for your information this isn't a shit tier forum it is bad, but it isn't on that level go to 4chan or mainly /b/ if you want to see shit tier. Hell even reddit is probably worse than here among other places.

>muh feelings I'm sorry, but everyone regardless of anonymity, age, gender, creed, colour, sexual preferences etc will be subject to scrutiny and/or judgement throughout their lives. Having a certain genitalia between your legs doesn't magically exempt you from that because "it's mean". Grow up and get some thick skin.

I was going to post on another account but I feel like this thread maybe had something to do with me. I know I'm guilty of making fun of other female members looks. I do that though mostly to piss off other members and because I don't think it's fair that you got to suffer from it more than the other girls which I feel like you do. I really don't think any female here is ugly I know I say it but I don't and I'm sorry if I ever hurt anyone's feelings. When I first heard of you people were saying things about your appearance like you weren't very attractive and that you were a 4/10. I didn't know what you looked like back than so I asked these people to post a picture but they never did. When I finally seen a picture of you on your group I was stunned because not only are you far from a 4/10 but you were more attractive than I ever imagined a girl on here ever would be but I still joined along and jumped on the "she's ugly and a attention whore" bandwagon. Why because even though I didn't really know you I thought because you acted confident and was beautiful you knew it and was stuck up. I can't stand stuck up chicks but to my surprise you were nothing like that. I treated you like crap said every worst insult I could think of and you still treated me with respect when I obviously didn't deserve it. You were kind to me and I have no idea why. I wish people got to know you like I did rather than thinking your some stuck up attention whore because there so off but forget those people. Your one of the most kindest member I ever met on here and maybe even irl on top of that your beautiful and I can promise everyone here knows that. I know you think I'm trolling when I say others are butthurt by calling you ugly or average and I do overdo but in a way it's still true. People know damn well how attractive you are and they think you must know it as well so they try to knock you down with them. They don't want you or anyone else thinking they're more superior than them and they just assume someone like you must think that because.. well you are. You modeled, your a bartender, you have a long term relationship that's going somewhere, you were popular, your social, your attractive, you have all these things people here want and that makes them jealous. What do jealous people do? Try to drag down that person they're jealous of. I guess what I'm saying is they're not worth your time or this thread. Ignore them and remember your living the life they always wished they had.

Attention whore.

Felicia, scroll through this this thread and mute everyone who is not a gentleman. Profit.

Felicia, let me first say I like what you're trying to do. as DeeJ implies, we should conduct ourselves as gentlemen. As for my input on this matter: first, its probably never a good idea for anyone to put their picture online. With facebook and twitter this has changed somewhat, but before social media almost nobody would have put themselves in a forum. As for the dicks on the bnet, they are concentrated in #Flood. just stay away from #Flood and you're all good.

It's the internet. Go whine somewhere else.
