While they deserve it and it will definitely be more pleasant for myself not seeing their posts, that's not why I made this thread. I do truly want to understand why these type of people think it's okay, whether they're on the internet or not, to be jerks.

Because they can, they can make someone feel like dirt and they know that there is nothing stopping them.
-
But why is it so satisfying to make another feel bad? I don't get. It doesn't benefit me none. It doesn't make my day better. It doesn't make me feel better about myself.
-
Now I don't mean for this to be rude, but do you have self esteem issues? I don't like profiling but you seem to fit the glove for a lot of people I know who have self esteem issues. I used to care about what people say on the internet as well if this thread were a few years back I would probably be agreeing with you, but once got out of middle school I just stopped caring what people say or think. It may not around like it but it works wonders. The internet is just a place where everyone can talk, poke fun or let out their insecurities (and holy shit do you people have a lot especially a certain female ex-poster) without worry of being looked down upon. I am calmly saying this to you, don't try to understand it, just let it go.

I have an extreme amount of empathy for others. I dislike people being mean, perhaps from my own experiences. It's something I feel strongly about. I like to take a stand, I don't see how all of a sudden that gives me "self esteem" issues. If I did, why on earth would I still be here. Go take a look under Black Heavens comment, because I literally just explained the same thing.

Obviously she has self esteem issues, otherwise she wouldn't be writing a thread about how males are so "mean" to her. She felt bad so she made the thread to get pity from the white knights and other female users. I've seen it a hundred times before. Look through the thread, she states she made it for "curiosity", yet she says she already knows what's wrong, then that she doesn't know why, then that she knows she can't change anything, then that she wants to change things. Why is there so much contradiction? Because she's extremely emotional. If she were a man writing this, she would've been insulted BIG TIME by everybody for all the contradiction and lack of logic and understanding. But she's a female, so that didn't happen. Enjoy your double standards OP.

On my phone, not gonna read 800+ comments. Some people really need to seek help.

Winning in Halo and T-bagging can be insulting to people too.

You don't feel better by running others down because you are ok with who you are. People who run others down can't say the same, misery loves company. This is just MHO formed for my life's experience.
-
Mainly because they feel better putting someone else down because someone made them feel down about themselves, so they feel superior doing so. When in reality all they want is a simple compliment.
-
I don't know if they want a compliment I'd day they want to fit in and feel superior so they think if they cut ppl down and ppl like it then they think thier funny when they're a dumbass who obviously fails at life, my life experience from watching losers try to cut ppl down
-
Sure they do. Everyone wants a compliment now and then, do you not? Especially from someone they care about the most. Problem is they don't often get that positive criticism, if any at all, from anyone else. Thus in turn react negative to everyone else's around them. The "losers" you watch could probably need a compliment the most,
