Because I will never go so low, and even if I did, making another person feel bad about themselves doesn't satisfy me whatsoever. I can handle it, however I'm not sure if the person I'd be insulting back could, and I never want to result in another's sadness, even if they are only strangers on the internet.

If they are just trying to bring you down they aren't worth your time and effort. There is no sense being pointlessly nice, who cares if they get sad? You can't please everyone, this magical world where everyone is nice doesn't exist. And come on I was only teasing you know I like ya, well except the silly bans. I don't understand why your self confidence is so rocky at times there is absolutely no reason for it.
