You're wasting your life if you don't Gym

"What a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable." - Socrates. Let's be honest, if you don't go the gym and hone your body into the best shape it can possibly be you're doing it wrong. I can't fathom anymore the mindsets of people who don't go the gym, of people who are content with being average and unremarkable. I've been going the gym for just over a year now and I can honestly say it's completely changed the way I view life. brb strong as hell brb in great shape brb working out inspired me to keep a healthy diet brb stand out from the crowd brb respect from guys, girls wanting my body brb much more confident Used to stay inside all day playing games, writing fan fiction (the fact that at one point I was writing 3 Halo fan fictions on this site says it all really) and being depressed with my life. Almost as soon as I started working out the bouts of depression I used to have completely vanished, I realised there was more to life than gaming and internet and started going out. Now a year later I'd consider myself an extrovert. Me last year. Taken today. Why don't you work out and why doesn't your body look as good as mine? If you do and it does, good for you.

        • I would join just to get as ripped as Dwayne the Rock Johnson, but I know assholes who go to all the nearby gyms. What do I do about that?

I know that this is a poor attempt at trolling, but I'm going to say this any way; It's true that people should do more with their lives other than staying in doors and playing games etc. (then again, it's their life and they can do whatever they damn well please with it) but going to the gym and becoming some Arnold Schwarzenegger wannabe isn't your only option. Yeah it's good to stay healthy and be in good shape, but if that's your only hobby, you must be a pretty damn boring person (and that's coming from me). I choose to do other things, my primary alternative is playing guitar. In fact, I was tempted to make a parody thread of this replacing anything gym related with guitar, but you started saying "brb" a bunch of times and I know abbreviations can have multiple meanings depending on the context, but the only meaning for "brb" that I know of is "be right back" so I didn't bother. Anywhore, piss off et cetera et cetera

Lol taking that Socrates quote way out of context. Picking things up and putting them back down in an air conditioned room isn't hard. Climbing Everest is seeing what your body is capable of, not doing a few curls and chugging protein shakes.

                    • I agree in going to the gym produces a better quality of life and I encourage everyone to do so. Just without all the cocky messaging you have there. You're only turning into a stereotype.

                    •
If you do and it does, good for you.
If I had and it did, I'd be even more depressed. So I have a chiseled body. So what. What can I do with it. I already said I'd hate every girl who all of a sudden notices me, because I haven't changed as a person any. They're all better off dead in my eyes. So what will it bring me? Nothing. I'll have felt like I wasted my time. And I won't have done it for me, I would have done it for people like you, who PUSH me into doing worthless shit like this. I won't be happy. I'm happy right now, except there's just idiots all over the place like you trying to push your shitty beliefs on me.

                      • To be honest, I actually do want to start working out. I even bought myself some weights a few weeks ago. It's just the eating healthy part that I get stumped on. I have absolutely no knowledge of nutrition and healthy foods. I'd prefer to eat what I want, when I want. And no, I'm not fat. I'm actually pretty damn skinny.
