(For the unknowning QTE means quick time event. I.E. button appears on screen, you press button)
Whether on B.net or elsewhere, it seems that there is a growing trend. More and more gamers are beginning to hate quick time events. My first experience with the QTE was in Shenmue for the Dreamcast and I've played countless games that include QTE. I, personally, have never had a problem with them. In most cases, the QTE helps with the story telling. My question is why do people hate QTE so much now?

Quick Time Events can be a powerful tool, especially when there is verisimilitude with the actions you are asked to use. But like any tool, if it is overused or used improperly, it can easily break immersion and make the game bland. Nobody wants to press random buttons while watching a cinematic.
