No one uses them. Nothing makes my blood boil on here more than someone who BLATANTLY ignores #Gaming and posts Gaming threads in #Offtopic. There is no excuse other than laziness as to why you couldn't tag your thread #Politics/#Religion/#LGBT.
"You can just hide the thread!"
I know that, the problem is Daz (through the kindness of his heart) gave us a script which Auto Hides threads with a particular Hashtag. I don't want to see these threads, and I shouldn't have to go and manually hide a thread when I have a tool that does it for me automatically. You're just wasting the Ninja's time when you have this mentality of "Oh well I'm not going to properly hashtag a thread cause Recon or Foman will do it for me!"
The only reason people don't properly hashtag certain threads is either out of pure laziness or the fact that they know their thread wouldn't get as much attention if it was properly hastagged so they try to see if they can get away with not doing it at all.
Anyways, that was just a rant and I needed to vent some stress. Discuss as you will.

Edited by Achronos: 7/25/2013 9:21:31 PMOfftopic protip: You can tag things without typing the #. It's only there because people immediately understand the context when the # is there. Ontopic: I find use the "hide" button for people who don't tag properly is useful (not mute - hide). That being said, systemically enforcing this is difficult. We thought about adding "bad tagging" to the list of reportable things, but that's pretty subjective and not the direction we'd really like to go in. Suggestions are welcome.

I use the hashtags #catears #cats #kittnes #cat and #Cumguzzlingsemendemon

They Exist?

What do you all say about other people beside the original poster being able to #tag topics? I see some immediate benefits and flaws with this but lets spell them out, and weigh the options.

A front page info graphic would help explaining BNext. People are going to mess up between the new UI on the net and the app even if you say duh and roll your eyes and say deal with it .... Or don't do it and enjoy the multitude of complaints and confusion come 2014 and deal with that till you puke eye boogers.

This clearly should have been in #Complaints. C'mon man, that's just lazy.

That's what the Ninjas are for now lol.

I hashtag properly! (At least I try to too.)

I have been trying to do better on using #tags. In my defense I am still kinda new to Bungie.next

A solution will be to require 3 tags be attached to every thread. The default forum tag and then 2 user created or popular tags. This way, a thread doesn't just end up in the forum itself with no description. Step 1: Select a forum (Off Topic/Gaming) Step 2: Add 2 to 6 tags to describe your thread (#politics, #nintendo, #swimming, #music, etc.)
