Where's the "OP is an idiot" option? I'm sure it's been mentioned already. But still. Come on. Bungie never owned Halo. Microsoft owned Halo. Bungie decided to split from Microsoft, whereupon Microsoft created a subsidiary of their Games division which they call 343 Industries, to take over now when they left. No selling whatsoever, Bungie wanted to have control of what they create (hence their publishing deal with Activision saying they maintain full creative control and rights to all the IPs etc.), with Microsoft they did not have that.
