Jak and Daxter is overrated.
Someone has to say it. Worst Naughty Dog games since the Playstation debuted and worst of the three PS2 platformers (Ratchet, Jak, Sly).
The first and third are [i]okay[/i]. Jak 2 is a mess.
Anyone with me on this because I seem to be the only person that thinks the series is blown out of proportion.

The first game is god-tier but Ratchet and Clank will always be my favorite dynamic duo.

I liked Jak and Daxter, the first one. Not sure about the sequels. I just kinda... stopped caring after the first one.

2 RepliesJak and Daxter was my childhood. Do not offend jak and Daxter. Jak1 was great fun. Jak 2 and 3 were just as good as jak1 but better. I wish i had a ps3 just for the HD remake of the trilogy. Jak X was also great. Not going to talk about the lost frontier because it was a let down, but it did only play it on psp.

Jak and Daxter was my first PS2 game. That series defined my childhood. Such a good story.

I recently bought the HD collection on the PS3, but I've only played a few hours into the first game. I can certainly see its appeal back in the day, and it seems to hold up well even today. I haven't really found anything terribly negative about my experience so far besides the camera wondering off at times.

2 RepliesJak 2 was a horrible mess. Dark Powers barely worked and you could rarely use them even though it's teased constantly. Difficulty spikes at certain areas. The final level is a huge mess where if you die you have to start the whole thing over. Metal Kor was even worse. The game is great for storytelling but the gameplay itself was just god awful. Jak 3 fixed alot of these problems. Definitely the high point in the series. The lost frontier... just no. Horrible horrible game that Naughty Dog didn't even make. I really wish they would have a proper sendoff to the series where Jak would go back in time right after the young Jak went to the future. Jak becomes Mar and becomes the founder of Haven city. Make the series come to full circle.

Not really. It wasn't hugely popular like their other games. Jak 2 seems to be the one people like most too.
