You go on a hike to a mountain and get lost in the middle of nowhere. No friends near you, you have no cellphone reception, and have no clue to where you are.You try to find a way out, but it seems like you're just going in circles so you stop to rest and eat, but you realize you have no water left, and only have 1 can of food left and that means you have to ration well if you want to survive. You have 1 flashlight, two 20 meter long rope, 1 can of food and a tent, and a compass. So if you were in this position, what would you do? And why?

First off, Why would I have gone out on a hike without bringing someone with me, or telling someone where I'd be before hand? That's just piss poor planning. Drink my own piss or boil some stream water to deal with the water problem. Then I climb a tree to see if I can see anything, like a road, trail, or a ranger station, assuming its still light out, otherwise, I set up camp and wait till morning. (optional: wait for dark, then watch for lights.) If I decide to move out, I mark my trail every few yards to ensure I don't wander in circles, and also check cell reception, just in case. Also taking regular breaks to prevent exhaustion. Food isn't a priority... you can go a while without it.
