I think the article is very fair and realistic in its assessment of Nintendo's current situation as well as in the suggestions to fix said situation.
I don't hate Nintendo. I owned all of their systems up until the Gamecube. I'd love to see Nintendo rebound, but unless they change some things, even their first party titles won't save the system.

In the console world, they really need to stop with all the gimmicky bullshit. Motion control and touchscreen control only work in very specific settings. They need to go back to their roots and just develop high quality first party games and stop worrying about how to make themselves stand out. Make some awesome freaking games and you don't have to have a touchscreen gamepad to get people interested. Like the Super Smash Bros. Wii U? I would have gotten a Wii U had it been exclusive to the Wii U and if Wii U wasnt so damn expensive (could be cheaper if the gamepad wasn't like a $100+ piece of hardware). But now instead I'm getting it on my 3DS.
