A quality post: 5th Race speculation

There has been quite a lot of speculation on the 5th race. There was this [url=http://www.bungie.net/7_The-Dark-Army-Clues-amp-Theories-Pt-1/en/Forum/Post?id=60433626]guy[/url] and his other [url=http://www.bungie.net/7_The-Dark-Army-Clues-amp-Theories-Pt-2/en-us/Forum/Post?id=60448346]thread[/url]. We all thought that the Glimmer were the fifth and final alien race. Now our hopes have been darkened. We don't even know if there really is a fifth race. Maybe it was cut (like Tigerman). Maybe it was just a smokescreen set up by Bungie to keep us off their tails. But it doesn't matter. I [b]WANT[/b] a fifth race. Wouldn't it be cool if it looked like [url=http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq61/Warghost650/Destiny%20Concept%20Art/unkconcept3.jpg]this[/url]? This unnamed Fifth race nearly destroyed us. The Traveler died fighting it off. They have grown much weaker now, but still threaten humanity as a whole. These forms they have taken were not originally their own, and they have begun to grow old. They now strive to possess the human form. That is why they came to Earth. That is why the Traveler gave us its power: to protect from the possession of these foul beings.
Let me know what you think. I think it'd be pretty dang cool if this is how it is in the game.

2 RepliesThat concept art drawing is very mysterious. Could be a remnant from when they experimented with a pure fantasy game, before it turned into Mythic Sci-Fi. But I agree that I hope that enemy will appear sometime in Destinys history. I very much like the idea that it could be humans that traveled to the edge of space and became warped or simply gained knowledge that were beoyng our comprehension and now has returned to eradicate the weak pathetic humans that never evolved as they did. Perhaps the Awoken are a way or attempt from the Traveler to counter this evolution into the darkness. Angels vs Demons kind of thing?

Enough speculation. Bungie keeps too many secrets. The developers of CoD love us and will give away plenty of info on their games!

1 ReplyI hope they are a powerful DARK SPACE MAGIC wielding race, kinda like space necromancers or something along those lines If the Warlocks are the only beings able to wield SPACE MAGIC in Destiny then that would be kind of a letdown, for me at least

This is a pretty good theory. Also, we know that Bungie has done this "ancient species tries to protect humanity/the universe from an ancient evil entity" thing before with Halo. It seems logical that they would do something like that again because they know that it works. On the other hand, they might want avoid connections with Halo and create something entirely different. I don't really know what they would want to do.

4 RepliesThat image look like the hive queen. I'm beginning to think the 5th enemy are humans who left earth, and mutated in space to some degree gaining knowledge and space magic as well.
