I am not huge on gaming media media stuff but I found it interesting that some more "hardcore" trash talk is now happening at these events.
So to my knowledge 2 pretty big teams were taking each other on. One team member (I think epsilon) Just moved from the team they are facing to his current team and the trash talk (IMO) got a little out of hand. I remember the days of halo 3 competitive play where this stuff would hardly ever happen with big teams. What do you guys think though? Do you think they crossed the line with how much trash they were talking?
If I did get any details wrong feel free to say and I will edit the post :).
This was not a MLG event just to clear things up :).

Wait a second OP did you seriously suggest talking shit to the other team is a new thing? Dude people trash talked all the time back in Halo 2 and 3. Hell you can even find clips of MLG pros back from Halo 2 and 3 talking shit. It is fairly common because guess what? To a lesser extent it works. A lot of people when they get annoyed either do one of two things. They either get mad and as a result start playing like shit or they step up their game and wreck the person talking shit. A lot of people start doing the first one and as a result it is a good thing to start to talk shit to the other team especially if thousands of dollars are on the line. However most of the time it is not meant to hurt the person most likely the person doing the trash talking is doing it for the fun of it when really there isn't a chance of losing. Since talking to your team is more useful than insulting the other team.
