Media is destroying Social media

All this crap about "cyber bullying" to most of us is nonsense and we happily ignore it or if we are bored feed the trolls for some fun. However since newspapers and TV/Radio broadcasters got involved suddenly every little bad thing is taken super seriously and the power of the media to influence how you think has made adults and children treat these trolls as serious business. Those of us in between 35 and 18 are well aware of what the internet is like and we laugh at the media and governments pushing for "Trolling is illegal" and "anti-cyber bullying" laws that makes both trolling and cyber bullying illegal as if it's going to have any effect. Do you feel the media is making social media out to be worse than it actually is? If a celeb posts something online about another celeb, that "other celeb" may not even know what is said unless they read the paper for example and then the slagging off begins.
