Why it's sad to be a gamer these days
2007 we saw Halo 3 2008 mw1 2009 mw2 2004 halo 2 2001 halo 1 2000-2006 we saw splinter cell ghost recon world of warcraft morrownd shadow of the colossus old cod doom 3 Everquest 2 burnout 3 some classic Pokemon games and many more classic memorable games. Now tell me, what classic games have you seen since 2010 onwards? Also what classic games have you seen at e3 which have the potential to be classics? Can you please answer these two questions. My answer is none. It's a sad horrible time to be a gamer.

I wouldn't consider Diamond and Pearl (the Pokemon games that came out in the 2007-2009 time period) good at all. In fact, I wouldn't even give them a 5/10. MW2 was a great game, but in no way would I consider it a "classic." Also, we've seen some really good shoot n loot games, such as Fallout NV and Borderlands 2. By the way, Red Dead Redemption came out in 2010, I would consider that a 10/10 game and IMO better then GTA4.

I think it takes time to become classic. When I think about classics I think N64,PS1,2,and XBox. Maybe so far as first releases to current gen platforms. But not games in the last few years. I say you can't be playing the game on a daily basis for it to be a classic.

7 RepliesIts takes time for a game to become classic. I'm sure in a few years games like Halo Reach and Gears of War 3 will be "classics" despite the flaws in each, just as games like Halo 3 and Cod 4 have become.
